Impact & Environmental Recorders

ShockWatch Impact & Environmental Recorders

Monitor critical goods and equipment that need special care and handling in transport, storage, and use. Shock, vibrations, and unacceptable environmental conditions can cause costly damage. Identifying responsibility for these unacceptable conditions is the first step in preventing damage and downtime.

ShockWatch Impact & Environmental Recorders provide ongoing monitoring of the intensity and duration of shock and vibration to large stationary or moving equipment, structures, and products. Triaxial piezoelectric accelerometer technology is used to record impact direction, amplitude, and duration. Optional sensors also record changes in temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure.

ShockLog: RD298
This device records the date and time of up to 400 events. It has several unique features, making it especially suitable for applications in which the cost of exposure to out-of-specification environmental influences is very high. The instrument is equally convenient for protecting high-value fixed or mobile installations, or characterizing shock and vibration during transportation.

In normal operation, the device checks the output of the sensors continuously, and dynamically records any impact above a preset level. This dynamic reloading mode offers high-resolution data capture (up to 2048/Hz) and wake-up within 1.5/ms of exceeding the threshold.

Optional accessories include an environmental indicator and a remote accelerometer to record shock and vibration in areas away from where the device is mounted.

Micro ShockLog: RD317
This device records the date and time of up to 128 events, in addition to peak values of impacts at user-specified intervals. Optional accessories include a humidity sensor.
  Optional Sensor: RD298HPT
The RD298HPT is a combined humidity, pressure, and temperature sensor for use with the ShockLog Impact Recorder. It enables these impact recording products to monitor an extended range of environmental factors and is fully supported by the ShockLog software. The HPT sensor unit is plug- and play- compatible with the ShockLog.

Innovative Software for Reliable Data and Analysis

The ShockLog and Micro ShockLog are offered with a comprehensive Windows-based software program that allows you to program your own wake-up, warning, alarm levels, and frequency of data collection. When a pre-programmed impact level is exceeded, data will be stored for future analysis. With the software, you can also configure the devices directly or via iButtons to extract data and generate reports and charts.
